Ori Shade is an individual student project for Digital Media Hybrid Craft class at Georgia Tech. The project starts with a study of Tracing Craft and Creative Practice. This study looks at creative practices of crafters, how, and why they do their work and realize their specific practice. Each of us interviewed an artist/crafter who practices traditional art crafting. We then created an artwork which was inspired by the crafters we interviewed but adding digital intervention to the traditional crafting process. The final piece is called Ori Shade. Ori Shade is an interactive origami kinetic sculpture that reflects the moment when a person is interacting with it. The sculpture was designed and implemented in 3 months.
